runbikeswim
I have some baseball pants and cleats that no longer my fit my son. I was going to bring them to baseball practice and see if anyone wanted them (free, of course). Then I wondered if that was weird or may be looked at oddly. Thoughts? Stacia
I think that's great. Not weird or rude at all. Kudos to you!
Caroline
People do that around here all the time.
mom2bee
Absolutely not! I think that its great. One year, my little sister needed new cleats to play soccer--our car broke down the first week of soccer and we didn't have the money to get her cleats. We were going to withdraw during the refund period but another family had some to give away for free. It was a tremendous blessing for us and my sister really loved her season! Please don't feel odd for being so generous or thoughtful! You could be making a childs season.
catz
Oh jeez, some parent may love you by the end of the day! I do stuff like this all the time, and I take other people's freebees too.
plansrme
People do that all the time around here also, and I live in a pretty affluent area. We have given away dozens of pairs of ballet and tap shoes, books, leotards. It would not be at all rude or weird here. Eta: If you call it recycling, you look even cooler. regentrude
Somebody will be very grateful.
zoobie
I think it's nice! Though I can't imagine passing down cleats. My DS's need to be burned by the end of the season. They have to stay in the shed. The boy's feet could be a WMD. ;)
SKL
I only know one person who got angry at being offered something second-hand. It was a cultural thing with him, though. If you're done with something, why not give it a new life? There's always someone who could use a little help, in every circle, whether they advertise it or not. athena1277
In my kids' soccer league, they have a "free box." People put in their kids outgrown cleats, shin guards, etc. Anyone who can use something in the box can have it.
Loowit
I think it is great when people do this. I do it with DD's dance shoes if they aren't too worn out. My kid's soccer shoes are always too worn out to do that with, but if I had some that were worth handing off I would do it. Our soccer league has a large pile of free used shoes that are available. Coffeemama
I've done that before with dance shoes.
Joyofsixreboot
I love people like you. People who would find that rude are rude.
