LNC
https://www.hewittho...em.aspx?id=2852 Can anyone tell me about this? Worth it, or just schedule reading through the books?
JanetC
I used these tests -- they were cheaper than any of the review/reinforcement materials from the original History of US publisher. I did not use the syllabus. I don't remember it being very special: Just a reading schedule and some suggestions for papers and projects. I also added the books Key Decisions in US History (Walch). The Key Decision books are dated -- pub date is in the 1990's, so they're missing anything related ot 9/11 and the subsequent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan (key historical events, even though they're still current events as well). But, for the topics they cover, they made excellent discussion guides. My kids loved curling up on the sofa with me and doing them together. I can't figure out the way to get the direct link to the product, but if you search on Key Decisions on walch.com you'll find them. --Janet

AK_Mom4
We used both the syllabus and the tests a few years ago for DS17 when he was in 8th grade and I plan on using them again for DD next year. The syllabus made it very easy to pace out the reading so that we kept on schedule. DS liked the tests (strange child!) and they were not very difficult since the reading pace was fairly easy with the syllabus. Worth the money to have someone else do the work on this one.
