Pen
My son has been playing Sumdog as a Guest, and enjoys it. To me it seems like an acceptable computer game that does help cement some arithmetic. I would like to register him, which is supposed to be possible for free, but I have tried several times and just end up in an endless loop that takes me back to the home page, or else into a field that requests his school ID which we do not have since we are homeschoolers. If you have successfully signed your child up, how did you do it?
lamppost
I just signed up today and also found it confusing. You need your own parent account, and the student needs a separate account. You have to click the link in the email they send you to activate the child account... but you have to be logged in as a parent to do that. So then I was logged in as me but couldn't log her back in because they never sent me my daughter's login info. I eventually figured out if I looked around in my own account and clicked on her name I could find her login info there. I never got asked for a school ID. Pen
Thank you! Won't feel certain till trying to log on again and actually play, but I think, knock on wood, I succeeded this time. At least it was not an endless loop. After many attempts even via "parent" were not working and cast me in the endless loop, I went for "teacher" as a homeschool. It might even let me see a report that way, but maybe that takes a paid subscription. And it might let a few other homeschooler friends nearby also join and play each other perhaps. Pen
I'm starting to guess that what might have happened was that a teacher at our local school offered to put him in under her class, but then we thought this never happened. Maybe she did and so somehow that is what triggered the school login info request. I dunno. Anyway, I hope it will work now.
