mom31257
I lead a book club, and I would really like to have a website (blog or something else) for next year. I'm thinking of somewhere online that students would go to find vocabulary lists I posted, questions to be considering while reading the books, links to sites about the author or time period, etc. What type of internet venue would be best for this? I would need it to be free. Thanks for any suggestions!
Erica in OR
Depends on the age of the students and whether they're on Facebook or not, but perhaps a closed Facebook group? Erica in OR
Five More Minutes
Check out Edmodo -- it's clean and simple for educational groups. Edublog is more full-featured if you'd like more.

Erica in OR They are not old enough to be on FB, and I don't think every parent is on it. They were 3rd-6th grade this current school year. Five More Minutes
I last used Edmodo about a year ago; I used Edublogs a few years ago, but stopped when I switched to self-hosted.
mom31257
I'm definitely going to consider Edmodo. Any other suggestions?
NittanyJen
It might be 'more' than you want, but check out sites.google.com. You can include a message board if you wish, a calendar, a newsletter/syllabus/thoughts from facilitator blog type page, file uploads, anything you like. You can set it all to private/invitation only.

paceofnature
There is also haikulearning.com. I have been playing around with it but haven't done much yet. I'm hoping to use it for history next year ~ reading assignment listed at the top, read alouds on the side, videos embedded and game links within. We shall see...
