amo_mea_filiis.
If you were the power cord for my laptop, where would you be?! Dd tries to sneak devices, so I've been hiding them. The last time I busted her trying to steal the laptop, I separated the cord from it. And now of course I can't find the cord.
klmama
In a drawer in your bedroom, in the space between the deep freeze and the wall, in a rarely used tote bag, in the junk drawer in the workroom, on a high shelf in the garage, or tossed in the back of your closet. Hope you find it.
Mommyof4ks
In the side of couch under the cushions or maybe on top of the fridge (long story lol), or under the bed.
Luanne
In one of your boots? My daughter lost our television remote there once. It took a couple of months to show up.
SunnyDays
When I read the thread title, I thought maybe you were asking: Where would you be if you weren't trying to clean up all the papers from the school year, completely mentally overwhelmed at the idea of sorting through all that crap? And my mind went to a beach somewhere.... Oh, was that just me? Carry on, then.... :D However if a remote, power cord, or puzzle piece goes missing here, the answer is almost always "under the couch." Alte Veste Academy
I would be lost in the sofa cushions after being used as reins for a younger brother and hastily discarded when said brother bucked and ran. At least that is how it goes here. On the bright side, they know reins go around the pits and chest, never the neck. Baby steps to maturity... Ali in OR
Somewhere in my dresser. At least that's where our DVDs of old ballet recitals were. Dd told me earlier this week that I hid them somewhere a year ago because they were watching them too much. I have no memory of this. But I found them under my shorts in the bottom drawer of my dresser--one of the usual hiding places. Bonus--found a chocolate bar that I had to hide because they were getting them (the other two) in their Easter baskets.
amo_mea_filiis.
So far it's still missing. :(
LostSurprise
As far as hiding goes, are you an 'up-high' hider (kids can't reach) or a 'sneaky' hider (kids can't reach but would never look there)?

amo_mea_filiis.
I'm a sneaky hider. It had been in the car at one point, but the car was emptied and cord brought in (car was sold before the 22nd... See below) Ds had dental surgery on the 22nd and I know dd used the computer that day. I can't remember what happened after that. I know I took the laptop and hid it in the laundry room. Not a clue on the cord. I've looked in dd's room, but didn't tear it apart. I'm going to do that now...
Garga
On top of the books on the top shelf of a bookcase. Your nightstand. Linen closet. Behind a bunch of CDs/DVDs. In a soup tureen (that's where my stash of candy is.).
amo_mea_filiis.
I offered dd an hour of Internet if she found the cord. She had a memory moment; she DID hide it! In the downstairs bathroom (unused) shower in a box! She lost 30 minutes off her Internet time. (If she were typical, I'd have taken all time, but if I didn't give her *some* time, she would have just come up with better spots).
Anne in CA
Lol, this was a funny thread, but have you just considered getting a big lock box and keeping the key on a chain around your neck?
amo_mea_filiis.
Yup. Lock box/safe will be coming soon. I hate having to hide things.
Seasider
Why would she hide the cord? That would just mean she couldn't have any Internet time. Is it her plot to keep someone else off the computer?
Pippen
I had a friend whose wedding ring went missing once. After hours of searching she questioned her preschooler (again) who led her to one of many shoe boxes in her closet.

She does have internet access on other devices, but they're locked unless I allow it.

If she were a typically developing 12 year old, I'd agree with you.
