sheryl
I'm not a fan of Facebook. Never have used it and don't intend to b/c I just.don't.like.it! Yes, it can be used for good, but too often there is so much junk out there and fb becomes "inappropriately" used (as other social media can too). My dd has a friend who is on this circles thing? After looking at it, it seems to me it's a FB knock off, right? Since we won't register her with fb, I'm not sure why she's asking to register with circles - if it's the same thing. Can you offer insight into this. Thanks. After enough responses, then rejoin Laura's topic! LOL! :) Hi Laura!
Lynnae
Now I'm curious. Where's Laura's topic and what's it about? :D Yes, Google plus is another social media platform. The biggest difference is that whens someone circles you, you don't have to circle them back, whereas with Facebook, the relationship has to be mutual. The plus side of this is that your Google Plus stream doesn't get cluttered with a bunch of people you don't want to see, yet they can still follow you. The minus side is that you don't always know who you're sharing things with, unless you only share to your own selected circles or specific people. My guess is if you're not comfortable with Facebook, you won't be comfortable with Google Plus.
Susan in KY
I use Google Plus to keep up with family and conduct a daily math class via hangout. It's nice to be able to do that. What I don't like is seeing every one's post from all over the web, public posts. Some are just *blech*. Haven't figured out how to narrow it. sheryl
Lynnae and Susan, THanks much1 L, you may be right. I may not want dd to sign up for circles. Laura's atheist topic is "hot" and on the first page. Susan, if you figure it out lmk, please. Although L said - you can share just with your circle to avoid public display, right L? Susan in KY
Yes, you can make *your* posts private. However, I don't want to see everyone else's public posts. I haven't figured out how to block those from a bunch of people I don't know.

Perhaps Susan knows the answer to that question.

Guest inoubliable
https://www.google.com/intl/en/+/learnmore/index.html https://www.google.com/intl/en/+/learnmore/circles/ You can be as private as you want, you can lock your posts from being shared among you circles.
