NotSoObvious
A lesson I did not need to learn at 8AM on a Saturday morning.

klmama
Really? That's awesome. I've always used peanut butter and elbow grease.
Reflections
Yeah, I had to learn that lesson about a week ago. And, word of warning, even washable markers will stain your wood floor if they are on the floor and mix with a water spill.
PIE!
And FYI, if someone writes on a whiteboard with a sharpie, tracing over it with a whiteboard marker will get it off. Thankfully I don't know if that works on hardwood floors as well.
theYoungerMrsWarde
Alcohol also gets pen off a flat screen monitor. :glare:
redsquirrel
So does a Magic Eraser. It gets sharpie off floors and walls. I don't have personal experience with this, but I have told a couple hysterical friends, and it has always worked, lol.
Alexigail
So does a Magic Eraser. It gets sharpie off floors and walls. Magic Erasers are great but they can take paint off of walls so I'd test it somewhere first.
felicity
Does anyone know what gets superglue off hardwood floors? I wish I was asking for a friend.
GailV
Bonus points! This counts as a chemistry demo! Great way to introduce the idea of something being hydrophobic http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/sharpiepenscience
Tammi K
Does anyone know what gets superglue off hardwood floors? I wish I was asking for a friend. Acetone nail polish remover....not the Non-Acetone type. That won't work. Unfortunately, it may also remove the finish on the floor. Check in a hidden location somewhere first. mamato4girls
Works on a computer as well, as we discovered today thanks to my 1 yr old. :)
stripe
How about ballpoint pen? I've used rubbing alcohol to get it off clothes, but one of my kids scribbled on the floor and it looks UGLY! And that magic eraser made it worse.
Mom-ninja.
Will rubbing alcohol take paint off the wall?
lailasmum
I had to learn the alcohol and sharpie combo when my son drew on the tv a couple of years ago. The other thing with sharpie that its handy to know is that its not uv stable so any thing small enough to go out in the sun will fade the sharpie in a day or two. stripe
Will rubbing alcohol take paint off the wall? Any sort of scrubbing will, especially if you have flat paint. I have used magic eraser very carefully, and also scrubbing with baking soda. You cannot go in and scrub fiercely on one spot. You have to sort of gently rub the whole area. I have gotten pen off clothing with alcohol, but I had to sort of flush it through the cloth and absorb it on the other side with an old washcloth or something. Otherwise it stays on the cloth, basically. I did notice Sharpie fades on sports balls that I have written, but I didn't know why. Thanks!
