yvonne
Have your kids read these in chronological order? Or in the order in which they were published? Here's a great site to find out the sequence of books in a series: http://www.mcpl.lib.mo.us/readers/series/juv/title.cfm?browse=R The Redwall books are listed chronologically and by pub. date, so we were wondering which is the best way to read them? Thanks, yvonne
Jean in Newcastle
Ds11 (the Redwall expert) says chronologically.
Cindy in C-ville
My dd was just saying the other day how much she likes that you don't have to read them "in order." Some of them kind of fit together, but basically, they're independent stories.
VaKim
My dd has gone through them twice, once each way. She prefers the order they were written. :)
Guest Virginia Dawn
I didn't know there was a difference, I don't think ds realizes it either. He is going through them in the order that they are listed inside the book. Which is that, chronological or by publication?
~Tara~
What age kids do you all have reading these? My 7 (tomorrow) yr old discovered them a month or so ago, he's on his second book. Though I have no idea what 'order' he's reading. I'll have to see. Curiosity ya know ;)
Cindy in FL.
My ds read them initially in published order. Now he goes back and pulls them randomly to reread. He's read them all at least twice! Cindy

yvonne
We're off to the library for the fourth book (in publication order.) In response to the earlier post, my boys are almost 8. They're listening to the books on cd, not actually reading them... Thanks, again! yvonne
shalom22
I had never heard of the Redwall series until I read this thread. But I went to Half-Priced Books and hit the jackpot. I got 11 of the books, 1-6 & 10-14 for $1.00 each. I couldn't believe it. Now I hope that my dc's will read them and enjoy them. Or maybe I will.
