Hard back or soft Saxon books?

I purchased the 8/7 with Pre-Algebra homeschool edition with answers & Dive cd. I was a little disappointed because It was the soft cover and I like the hard backs because of durability. I have a hardback Saxon 5/4 2nd edition which I would like to use. Where can I purchase the tests & answer booklets for this edition?

Do you like the hardback or soft Saxon books?

I've got all hardcover books except for Saxon 8/7. I would far rather have the hardcover books if only because they aren't so unwieldy. The soft covered ones are super thick and the quality of the paper is terrible. I have read that Saxon did that to reduce costs for homeschoolers, but I suspect it is to reduce the potential for resale. I have Saxon Grammar and even though my kids are pretty careful with books, these are a mess by the end of the year and there is no way I could resell them even if they hadn't written in them.
