I'm watching the local news there. I didn't realize there were some deaths yesterday. :( I'm seeing a lot of fires, too. Just awful.

They are comparing this one to the one in May 1999 which I have heard was the largest ever recorded. I'm so grateful ds is home from college there. The storm is heading our direction (Tulsa area). I-35 is closed both directions because of debris. Emergency vehicles are not able to move in and out. Apparently an elementary school took a direct hit at 3:00 p.m. Haven't heard much on that except a twitter post indicated some kids were in a safe room.

One spotter said it was 2 miles wide and on the ground for 45 minutes.

There are kids trapped in one of the schools. :( This is just... awful. I have no words for this.

75 children were inside the hallway - the secure place - but the walls are gone and the school is a "debris pile" 10 ft high. They are searching the pile. Several children have been removed and appear in good condition. Apparently a man named Pat pulled his child out of school 30 minutes before the tornado hit. He said that 30 children were pulled out of there...not sure if that is part of the 75 or not. A horse farm is demolished - hundreds of dead horses.

The horse farm is Orr Family farm which is a well known place around there that is fun for families to visit. There is 75-100 horses

I just saw an interview of a fella who worked on the farm. He was able to open some of the stalls hoping that the horses would be able to escape. He is hoping some made it. So sad!

Just heard that the K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are still unaccounted for. The upper grades are safe and sheltered in a church. The 3rd grade students were in the hallway area. They are trying to keep people away so they can hear the kids yell for help. this is at the Plaza Towers

My brother's house is still standing. He's trying to check on his ex-wife's house by foot. My brother drove south and my SIL picked kids up early and got into a storm shelter outside of town. This has been so scary. I grew up in Edmond where the tornado went through yesterday. Praying for the people of Moore and Oklahoma. My heart hurts.
