kfeusse
My son has a ring like marking on his neck. It has been there for several weeks...but it doesn't bother him in the least. No itching, no real rash..no pain...no swelling or blisters...just a ring like marking? What could this be and how do I treat it? thanks. dbmamaz
ringworm is a fungus. can you get it checked by a doctor?
magnificent_baby
It very well could be. Have you googled pictures? You can try over the counter products, or go to the doctor. It should be kept covered up so you don't spread it to others.
Tammi K
'Button' eczema can appear like that. My daughter has, at any given time 8-12 patches on her back. They frequently don't itch. In fact, they seem to bother me more than they bother her. But, I would think if it is eczema, in any form, he would have more than just one spot. I would go with ring-worm or some other fungal as a first guess.
Laura Corin
I'd look at pictures on the web. In my experience, it's easy to treat with over-the-counter medications. Laura

Nummular eczema. It can appear as only one discoid.
gardenmom5
ringworm is a fungal infection. use a topical cream for yeast. it won't hurt him if it's not ringworm, and it will kill the ringworm.
swellmomma
My oldest is currently dealing with ringworm, it is highly contagious, very itchy(he would scratch to the point of bleeding) and painful as a result, and spread further due to said scratching. If it is not any of those things I would assume eczema, but still get checked after the weekend. Ringworm is a pita to deal with.

Pawz4me
I've had ringworm a couple of times (side effect of working in cat rescue). Once on my inner thigh and that was quite itchy. But the other time I had a small spot on my face that didn't itch at all. As others have said, it usually responds well to OTC treatment, and there's no harm in treating it "as if." sparrow
Could be ringworm. I've had it couple of times, also from working with animals, Pawz4me, and mine has never been itchy. I pointed out the spot to my doctor who gave me a prescription for an anti-fungal. The pharmacist told me to just go over to the foot powder section and get the Walmart version of Lamisil. It's $2.50 for a tube. I put it on after I showered and the spot was gone in less than a week.
MrsJewelsRae
My sister was diagnosed with ringworm when she was pregnant with her first child, she was sooo stressed out, trying to stop the possibility of spreading it or having the baby get it. She used special anti fungal creams from the dr and washed her clothes separately for months, to no avail. Finally she got a 2nd opinion and found out she really had nummular eczema.
