bnwhitaker
Is this something that would be beneficial to have a round for a while and buying would be a good idea. Or is it like a class that you could rent from the library go over it and be done?
Alte Veste Academy
You could watch it once and be done. (I would recommend keeping the book and/or taking copious notes if you go this route.) You could watch it once a year and learn something new each time. You could watch it unit by unit, as you teach. You can use it alone, teaching through content, or you can let it serve simply as a seminar and then teach from the SWI/SWICC and themed products. I would say what you could do probably matters less than what you plan to do (only TWSS, other IEW products, other writing curricula). And, conversely, what you plan to do may change after you watch TWSS. I am no help at all, I am sure.
bnwhitaker
Yes you were :) I keep wondering check out from library?? Or get used? Is there older versions that I wouldn't want I don't know? OR do I buy the $300 ultimate package? OR try to get TWSS by itself and then move onto IEW-A? Oh how I hate not feeling educated :) Im not sure what I will do but since I feel like I have NO IDEA what Im doing with writing I should probably do the unit by unit. I could see someone who knows how to write maybe not needing it as much as I might. Im trying to figure out how to do PAL 3rd section right now and feel completely overwhelmed by it. I know its probably simple but anyway I need hand holding or someone to come to my house and teach this :) AT least I know I want IEW that's a start! twinmami01
I got the ultimate package and just watch unit by unit. I need all the hand holding I can get. We are pretty new to IEW and at first, I felt we could get by without the TWSS (we are using SWI-A). Then we hit unit 3. I had to watch that section of the TWSS DVD twice. It's nice knowing I have them and can refer to them again. I figure they have a resale value, so once I'm comfortable I can always sell them. IMO, if the budget allows, get them. Or is it like a class that you could rent from the library go over it and be done? I ended up sitting down and watching the entire TWSS over a weekend. It really helped to give me the big picture. Next year I plan to move through the units watching TWSS as we go. However a friend checked it out of a library, watched it, and called it good. She never saw the need to rewatch the units.
