How much would you pay for this used curriculum??

If the curriculum new is $350 (and that does not include shipping), how much would you pay to buy the same curriculum used with s&h included? There is also a book missing that would cost about $20 to replace. Everything else is in good used condition according to the description.

 

I'm in the process of buying for next year and I'm just wondering what a fair bid is on the above scenario. Thanks! :)

Sonlight stuff. I just want to figure out what others are usually willing to pay for something used. Im trying to outbid someone currently, but I want to figure out what my high bid is now so I can just move on if I lose it.

Assuming it is the most current version and in good condition, the most I would pay for used is 175, minus $20 for the missing book. I would pay a bit more for something that is hard to find or a hassle to buy new.

I also wouldn't pay more than half, if it were complete, unless it were in new condition. Since it is missing a book, but shipping is included I would probably go half.

I wouldn't pay more than half for "good" condition; now, if it were in "excellent" or "like new" condition, I would pay more.

For good condition and newest edition - buying used is a matter of what I would be saving. $50 might be enough.

If it was "good" condition I probably would t buy it at all. IMHO around here especially good condition is more like usable. For excellent or like new I would pay up to just over half.

I agree with half. If a picture is provided you can usually tell if something is in "good" condition. I haven't had any problems buying "good" used books. I'd like to think that most people will be honest about the condition of the item they are selling. Maybe I've just been lucky! :)

For me, it might depend on my financial situation and how much I'm going to save like someone above said. Generally speaking, for lower cost items, I won't pay more than half unless it's brand new and then I *might* pay a little more if I'm still going to save enough to make it worth it to me. I only include shipping in the cost if I can't get it with free shipping. For a higher priced item, if I'm going to save a big chunk of money, I might consider it. So, for me, I'd figure out what amount of money saved would make it worth buying used and go for that. In this case, it might be $100. (Though, I like my core curriculum to be brand spanking new. Even though I am tempted by used packages, I'm spoiled by new. :))

I was outbid already. I was willing to pay $250 because the savings were worth it to me. The picture of the items looked very good and I believe the seller was honest in her description. Someone was willing to pay more, and at this point, I'd rather have it new. Saving $100 is one thing but paying almost full price isnt worth it. Thanks for helping me ladies. I normally dont use eBay, so I wasn't sure what my bottom line should be.
