MamaHappy
I'm looking for a science program for next year and I'm overwhelmed with all the choices out there! Next year I'll have a 3rd and 5th grader. I'd like something where I can combine my two boys. I'd like a good balance of hands-on activities and reading. Something affordable. Not too time consuming. I'm really looking for that "fun" element. I looked at Sonlight but it seems like it jumps around too much and it's way expensive!! Any suggestions?? Thanks!! AK_Mom4
Absolutely the most fun we had was the year we used Exploration Education. The intermediate Standard version woul dbe just right with a 3rd and 5th grader. It comes with everything you need to do all the experiments (a HUGE plus for us). http://explorationeducation.com/ McRuffy science was also lots of fun, but I think it only goes up through 3rd grade. The topics and experiments would be fine for both kids, but you might have to add in extra books for the older in order to keep it interesting.
