*anj*
I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again. Well at least for this week. Tomorrow morning begins my Annual Planning Week. Dh has taken this week as vacation and he will be in charge of the kiddoes, taking them around to do all manner of interesting things, and generally keeping them out of my hair. I have an awful lot to do, the task is daunting, but I really need to spend this time wisely because it will pass so quickly. I'll probably pop in once a day just to say "hi", but I can't hang out here. I'm going to take myself out of stealth mode so that if I'm here you'll all know it, and you can ask me if I'm supposed to be here, okay? (Well, I might need to ask advice or something, but that'll just be on the curriculum board. That's okay, isn't it? ;)) Even after planning week is over, I need to seriously curb my time here. I love you guys, but I love my kids more, and I really need to be giving them more of my time. It's kind of hard to teach them discipline and self control while I'm pecking away on the keyboard, you know? So that's it. If you're a praying person, please pray for me. Either way, please try to help me be accountable, okay? Note: this starts Monday morning, 8/4, so I'm allowed to be here now! :tongue_smilie:

I'm going to hang out for awhile because this will be the last night for a bit. :001_smile:
milovany
We take the summer off so aren't doing school right now, but I'm really being convicted (again!) about too much time on the computer. There is a verse in Psalm 119 that brought this yet again to my attention ("Turn your eyes from worthless things") -- not that fellowship here is "worthless" at all; it's just the amount of time I give to it that can *become* worthless. I think you know what I mean; don't know if I'm wording it well. I've really come to enjoy this website! I think what I'm being led to is to only be on during the two hours in the afternoon that my kids take to do their paper routes. That way they're busy with other things, the youngest are napping and the middles can have a quiet time. It also gives me clear cut "start" and "stop" times. So, have a great week planning and I *will* pray about your time here when you can return.
Doran
Got it, got it, got it! I'm right there with you, though sadly not planning as much as "preparing" for our big transition ahead (Aug. 25). So long...but not goodbye. :D
Jenny in Atl
May your week be a fruitful one. Sending you great and easy planning vibes northward with the wind and hopefully cooler temps. ;)

8filltheheart
Me, too. Dh and I took off for the day today, just the 2 of us......12 hrs of pure adult time! We went to antique malls, looked at pottery, ate out, and went to a movie. All of this was to convince me that I AM able to get up tomorrow and start lesson planning!! ;) School starts on the 11th and I have spent absolutely ZERO time planning for next yr. YIKES!!! I usually start ordering curricula in April, look through it in May and plan in June. I ordered stuff a week ago! Unfortunately for my older kids......dh will be going to work. They will be the ones babysitting. Is there are cheerleading similie??? Ones with really happy smiley faces bouncing up and down saying, "You can do it! Yes, you can!" Maybe the enthusiasm would "bounce" off the screen. :)
*anj*
:seeya: Oh, and you'll be blogging all about it, right?! ;):lol: Wellllllll, we'll see. I'll try. How's that? Thanks for reminding me about that because I need to go finish my music thingamajig. ;) If you're missing me and you want to check it out, here's a link. It is very boring though, I'm warning you. Oh, and how about this? I'll have a contest and offer a prize. The person who can show me the easiest way to make my blog look cute and updated and reflective of my personality will win a prize. Umm, how about this? How about Season Six of "That 70's Show" on DVD? I won it last year and I've never even opened the shrink wrap. Oh, and need I mention that it has to be really easy to do because my time and giftedness are severely limited!
*anj*
So, have a great week planning and I *will* pray about your time here when you can return. Thanks. And yes, I do understand what you're saying. I love this place, and there is so much that's good and fun about it, but I need to exercise some moderation. I'm sure that everyone here knows what I mean. :001_smile:

And you have my email address anyway, don't you? ;) May your week be a fruitful one. Sending you great and easy planning vibes northward with the wind and hopefully cooler temps. ;) Thanks, Jenny. Yes, cooler temps seem to be on the horizon, which is very, um, cool! :D Hope you have a good planning week! Thank you!!!! Is there are cheerleading smilie??? I'm sure that everyone here knows what I mean. :001_smile:You like your kids more than us? Moderation? What's that? I guess I just don't understand AT ALL where you're coming from---it just sounds so...so...foreign! :001_huh: Really, have a great planning week! I've been fitting my planning in around my time here and a host of other things. But I also need to get the planning done! I will pray that all goes well for you! I went cold turkey on our vacation (and we did have internet access) and it was hard, but very good. I have been playing a LOT this summer, and it will have to slow down in a couple weeks. I am going to try to have some moderation this next week or two.
Amy in Orlando
Have a great week, Anj. I need to get finished with all this house stuff so I can get my planning done as well. If you get a free minute, wanna stop by and help me paint the ceilings? It'll be fun.
Crissy
Enjoy your time, anj. You will be missed.
gardenschooler
Good for you, Anj. I'll help hold you accountable. I like to plan things out in advance, too, and it really helps me see the big picture of the school year. And time with the family...well, that's one reason why I'm usually on here in the middle of the night, when they're all sleeping. I don't recommend that route, though! I hope you can get to bed early and get a good night's rest so you will awake refreshed on your first day of planning week. :grouphug:
