tammyw
Tomorrow we will start book 3 in The Incorrigible series. The 4th won't be out until September, and then there will be two more books, and who knows when they will be out. I hate that! I didn't realize that when we started! I like being able to read through and finish. I'm still waiting for the next Penderwicks book to come out (next year), and I'm still mourning the end of The Mysterious Benedict series (will he ever write anything else?). I think I need more series to consider - ones that are completely finished already!
Farrar
But anticipation is so much fun!
Yet another reason to read the classics!
Wheres Toto
That's how I felt when I found out Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) still wasn't finished. There is no way I could read the available books and then go right into a new one without having to reread all the previous ones. There is too much detail. I stopped and decided I would just read them all at once when the series was done.
Madeline05
I thoroughly dislike waiting for the next installments in series! Anticipation is always exciting, but waiting until September! :scared: Classics :thumbup1: Maybe try one of those "Books like..." websites to try and find other books or series that are completed. http://bookslike.net/ http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/
Shahrazad
Argh, like the above poster, I read the Song of Fire and Ice series and didn't realize how much was still left to be written until I was almost done. Very frustrating!

All of a sudden, I'm 3/4 through the last book wondering how he's going to wind this up with so few pages left. Surprise! There's a fifth book. Evidently there's a fifth book that's out, a sixth book being written, and a seventh book that will finish it up. And there was 5 years between number four and number five so....... Shahrazad
But to be fair, I assume that he will not leave 5 years between the last ones because the show is running now and they are already on Book 3. He will have to have books 6 + 7 done by the time they get to it and I think he probably already has an idea of how things will end up happening in them since the showrunners need to be aware in order to affect the creative decisions they are making. Carol in Cal.
Yes, this was bad in the Harry Potter release years. Fortunately they were mostly self-contained, so you could enjoy them even if you knew that another one was on the way. However, not the 6th one! No, unlike all the rest the 6th one was a mighty cliff hanger. (GLARE) When I bought the 7th one, I took it home, took the phone off the hook, banned the newspaper, internet and TV to avoid spoilers, and read it in one glorious day. Anne in CA
Argh, like the above poster, I read the Song of Fire and Ice series and didn't realize how much was still left to be written until I was almost done. Very frustrating! This happened to me also. Very sad. Also, at work I accidentally gave a spoiler to my boss who I thought had finished all of them, but had just started. Shahrazad
The exciting thing at least about having read them is that I just started watching the series (I don't have a tv and tbh I FF through all the HBO! gratuituous scenes) with my husband (someone at work spoiled him about the big surprise in the first season) and now I'm counting down till the end of this season just to see his face at what is about to happen in this book. He has no idea what is coming lol and I'm glad, at least, that I can get some fun out of it.
