kfeusse
how many days past the date on the bottle is the cream ok to bake with?? and what is your favorite recipe to use cream in??
dbmamaz
Milk products that have gone sour are not actually dangerous. I used to use sour milk to make buttermilk bread all the time. any recipe that calls for sour cream would be good if the cream has actually gone bad, but honestly, its probably still good. The date is a 'sell by' date and they have to give you a few weeks past that guaranteed fresh . . . if you havent opened it, very likely its still good enough to put in your coffee. and its like milk - if it doesnt smell bad and its not curdled and there's no visible mold, its still good. i love a sour cream coffee cake . . . mmmm
Dandelion
I would go by the smell. I don't have any favorite baking recipes that use cream, but I love homemade Alfredo sauce (cream, butter, salt, and parmesan cheese). :drool5:
