SorrelZG
I'm not sure exactly what I need so I will try to explain the problem. DS likes to write his own short stories. I find addressing spelling errors and basic punctuation problems and run-on sentences to be simple enough, I suppose, but beyond that I'm feeling around in the dark. My own writing and grammar education was nothing to speak of and I do want to self educate so that I can be a benefit to my own children. I have a sense of what "sounds right" or "good" and can encourage research and consistency in tense and believability within the context but at the end of the day I don't feel like I truly know what I'm doing. Can someone make recommendations or point me in the right direction?
Georgiana Daniels
Two of the best editing books I've ever read: The Elements of Style, by Strunk and White Self-Editing for Fiction Writers, by Renni Browne and Dave King TONS of useful information and both are easy reads.
