MamaBearTeacher
I am looking for a list of titles of good books on biology. My sons have studied animals and plants, some evolution and some ecology and I wanted them to study biology in general at the more micro level. I want to expose them to information that will be comprehensive enough to prepare them to audit a first-year university biology course. My sons are 9 and 11 but because of their weird combination of special needs and giftedness they can't do experiments or written exercises but absorb written information very easily and can read at the child and adult level. I am looking for good books from picture books to textbooks and books for adults, books that my library is likely to carry.
Alte Veste Academy
The Scientists in the Field series is wonderful. Most are biology based. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=scientists+in+the+field&sprefix=Scientists+in+the%2Caps%2C305 There are other threads with great recommendations. Chrysalis Academy has listed great ones, as has Lewelma. If you search their user names, you will reap a harvest. :D
