craftymama
My 7 year old is finishing WWE 1 and will be going onto WWE2. We are also working through Grammarland, which he enjoys. He is having some trouble with some of the parts of speech and so I am sure he needs another approach to grammar. We will still finish Grammarland, but I want to either add some hands on work and activities or follow it up with another grammar program that will work as review for what he has learned and help him get a better grasp of what he hasn't. I have looked at the old version of FLL (the one with first and second grade in one book) and FLL 3. I feel like going into FLL 3 would be a good fit for where we are. Are there any other suggestions? Or do I need to start back at FLL 1 or 2? On a side note, I am a math girl, so grammar isn't my strong area to start with. SilverMoon
FLL 3 would be a good placement. :001_smile: My 7yo did Grammarland with the free worksheets this year, after having done a portion of FLL 3. The concepts complimented each other nicely. (After Grammarland she went to R&S English 3 at an accelerated pace. FLL 3 just wasn't a great fit for this DD.) Five More Minutes
I have used FLL 1 & 2 in their entirety and part of FLL 3. I'd have no hesitation about skipping the first two in favour if the third, particularly if you feel it's a good fit. FLL 3 covers everything presented in the first two books, but at a much faster pace.
