Christian Liberty Press' Exploring American History

I would like to hear what people who have used this have thought about it. I know it's included in at least one year of MFW. I plan on doing American history in one year next year and am searching for a spine. I used the Complete Book of US history when ds was in 2nd, so I don't think it would be a problem to use again. I'd like more to add to it, though.

For the 9yo? My current 4th grader used portions of it in 3rd grade; I can't remember him having any problems with it. I read it aloud and stopped to discuss it every few pages or so. I do remember that it had topics for the next small section in bold print much too frequently. They messed up the flow of the story and I just skipped them.
