*lifeoftheparty*
Looks like this happened back in January, sorry if it was already discussed, this is the first I have heard about it. I'm not going to lie.... When I was in the Army, I used to picture myself doing this same type of thing, lol; using those bayonet skills to save people and stuff ;) Or thighs, whatever ;) http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/apr/25/us-female-sailor-beats-dubai-rapist-bus-driver-sub/
mlbuchina
So thankful she was able to defend herself! I wonder why she was alone, though? When off ship in Dubai, you are supposed to always be in a group.

I'm glad that there really are females in the military who can actually defend themselves. We used to take our boys to watch combatives tournaments, there were occasionally some seriously tough female soldiers taking down males in their weight group. I would have always wanted to be their battle-buddy (because I'm a weenie).
gardenmom5
I'm very pro teaching self-defense skills - though sometimes you have to figure out where it will fit in the schedule or budget. my sil had a friend who went into security. she also had a black belt. she took down a much larger male shoplifter when she was six months pregnant. the police made sure every prisoner in the jail knew that's why the guy was in there too. LibraryLover
I read they found her DNA, in the form of blood and hair, on the bus. She fought hard. Glad they arrested him. Glad she is safe.
