She is looking for homeschooling communities in her city. Any suggestions? My friend has one daughter age almost 5, and another on the way soon from China. Orsig is the biggest mailing list, though not exclusive to Portland. Park days will be advertised there. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/orsig/ Village Home (homeschool support center with classes and a private umbrella school option) has two locations, one in Beaverton and the other (smaller) in NE Portland. There are lots of homeschool activities and classes and outings in the area. There's a twice-yearly homeschool group-buy to Great Wolf Lodge (advertised in Orsig).
