Haiku
I recently read one of the Drama of American History books Spy Car mentioned. I really, really liked it, and now I am considering doing a year-long American history study with my kids when they are in 7th and 8th grades (respectively). To keep with the four-year cycle, this would entail collapsing Early Modern and Modern into one year. Has anyone done this? Any schedules for doing so? Any suggestions? ktgrok
Sonlight Core H is basically that. We've done it this year, and will do a year long American year next year.
EKS
For the early grades, a great way to do this is to replace SOTW 3 and 4 (or whatever you're using) with K12's History 4. For the middle grades you could do world history in three years using K12's Human Odyssey books.
jessj
I haven't done it, but I am planning to do something like it in the future. We have done some geography and Amer History and now I'm going to start my 4th grader (next year) into the classical cycle. But obviously, we're pretty off. I am tenatively planning to try to do the 4 cycles in 3 years and then get her onto Veritas Omnibus from 7th up.
