northcoast
On day 4, step 2, rule # 2 that you should always quote directly when taking notes. Does that mean one should not ever put notes into his own words? I also noticed a couple examples of notes where end quotes were not used. I hope that is a typo and not something I missed in the instructions..... Any thoughts?
SFossum
If you'll notice, on P. 375, it says to write down the exact words that the source uses and then look at your notes as you write. What I had my dd do was direct quote a phrase and then put it into her own words. If it was common knowledge, I didn't make her footnote the information. Then I had her use another source for a direct and indirect quote.
Chrysalis Academy
OMG, I am hating this week's assignments! We just got through with Week 28 Day 2, where they are taught documentation. This was the most convoluted and confusing assignment, not to mention a terrible example of the use of quotations. :confused1: :confused1: :confused1: :confused1:
