kfeusse
right now we have the unlimited streaming plan, but I was considering adding the DVD plan too. But, I don't know which one to go with...I mean, 1 DVD at a time, 2 or 3? Which one do you have? and how much more is there to watch on DVD's that you can't get on streaming? is it really worth the money?? I thought it was cheaper than it is...I thought they had a streaming and dvd offer together for a discounted price...or somehting...but I can't find that. Erin
We're on 3 DVDs and recently added streaming. $25 a month. Because we're on satellite at the house, we'd never bothered with streaming. However, with DH up in the oil field, he can stream onto his Tab so I added it. They USED to have a discount version with DVD/streaming, but they discontinued that sometime last year. KarenNC
We have recently gone from 2 at a time for the dvds to 3 (we also have streaming, as well as hulu plus, but no satellite/cable/etc). I find it worthwhile as there is still a lot you can't get streaming. Is there not a way to browse the dvd selection before signing up for it? We have more to watch than we have time for with this set up.
Pippen
We're on streaming plus 2 DVD's. The kids and my husband primarily use the streaming and I only watch the DVD's. It's mostly for convenience since I mostly watch on a portable DVD player next to the kitchen sink. I also like the DVD extras, which aren't available through streaming. We do have more to watch than we can keep up with. Here's how we use it: Hulu Plus---current seasons of shows, some older or unusual shows we wouldn't see otherwise as well like Supersizers Go Netflix streaming---documentaries for school, past seasons of some tv series, movies if they are available, anime Netflix dvd----all of the above that aren't available for streaming, though I tend to not use it as much for documentaries as I prefer to stream those, even resorting to Youtube at times if something on the topic isn't available through Netflix or Hulu. We really stepped up our use of streaming when we got a Roku player (which also has some of its own free channels available). My daughter is very visually oriented, so we use documentaries and movies a lot in our homeschooling. I wish more of the educational resources from Netflix that are short (30 min to 1 hr on a disc) were available streaming. I don't want to have to use our 1 dvd allotment for a 30 min segment of something, but if it were streaming I might have used it.
5of5
Since it is easy to change your plan, why don't you start out with just 1 DVD and see if you find it valuable? If not, you can switch back to streaming only, but if you find that you want more than 1 DVD, you can up it. I find that there are still many things that are not available on streaming. Also, sometimes a TV show or movie drops off the streaming list, and then I have to get it through the DVD option.
Garga
Netflix (or whatever we can find free online) are all we use for tv. We have streaming and 3 dvds out at a time. One for me, one for dh, one for kids. I think there are a LOT of things that are dvd only. I like what we have. If I was paying for cable or satellite, then I wouldn't have netflix, because we're too cheap to have both.
