Bre@$t milk jewelry???

It's not my thing, but I honestly don't see the harm in it. I read the article linked by the OP. Sounds like the women who buy these pieces are just buying them for themselves, as a way to commemorate something that was special to them.

To me, this is no different than hanging on to teeth, umbilical cords, etc. Some people fashion those into mementos too. Some keep their pregnancy test sticks, and there's apparently at least one company that makes special keepsake pouches for those. Again, not my thing. But if it makes people happy and they want to preserve memories this way, I don't see the problem.

Well maybe I should have worded it different, maybe not freaky but just a tad too sentimental?

lol I keep weird things. I do have one umbilical cord stump. I know, I'm crazy. But I had ppd and just couldn't get rid of it. I don't think this jewelry is freaky, but then again, I'm pretty pro-breastmilk.

I want one when I'm finished nursing my last baby--so sometime in the future. Nursing has been an important part of the relationship I've had with my babies/toddlers/preschoolers, so yeah, it's something I want to remember.

I think it's a sensible way of saving something that is special to you--doesn't take up a lot of space, doesn't require refrigeration/freezing, isn't obviously yucky, is useful in the sense that it can be worn as jewelry by mom. Makes perfect sense to me. :)

Professional organizer, Peter Walsh, said he has seen several people who have saved a poopy diaper. THAT is too sentimental!

Definitely too sentimental. :ack2: Somewhere out there, there's probably an enterprising jewelry designer who's already working on the designer poop pendant. :D

I think it's just a personality thing. I didn't even keep the lock of hair from my son's first haircut and apparently I was supposed. I would not want that kind of necklace, or baby teeth, or umbilical cord reminders, but I can't say that I would call it too sentimental as a blanket statement about everyone. It would be too sentimental for me. :)

I have a cool pouch shaped like a flower with a transparent center in a scrapbook...that is filled with baby teeth.

In fact, I have a small box in a trunk that houses all my jr high notes and college flotsam with...my baby teeth. Going on 40 years old, those are.

So yes, I'm a freak, and no, I don't find this particularly odd. I have no poopy diapers tastefully scrap booked though! So there is that.
