mo2 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Or can I get by with just purchasing the student guide? Also, are they overly Christian in tone? Quote
TheAutumnOak Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I would argue that it is the student book that is unnecessary...I would definitely get the teacher's book...The student book can be done orally, thus eliminating the need for the student book...The teacher's edition is needed for the discussions...I am not sure about the tone...The ones I have seen just seem to deal with the books...I haven't found them to be overly Christian in tone, but since I am a Christian, I just might not notice such things... mo2 Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 Thank you. So everything that is in the student book is also included in the teacher book? Quote
TheAutumnOak Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Yes...The teacher's book is just the student book with the answers on the blanks and any tests in the back if the book has tests...The only time you will have a problem is if it is a worksheet you want filled out because the answers will be there...If you do it orally, you won't need a worksheet... alisoncooks Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Not to hijack, but is the exception to this the MP Storytime Treasures set? I remembered reading somewhere (here?) that the teacher's guide for this set is simply an answer key. Anyone know if this is right? Quote

Not sure, but I am under this impression as well...I am getting Storytime Treasures for the first time for next year, and I am getting the set with the student guide and teacher key... Quote
lea1 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I purchased the 2nd Grade Literature Teacher Key for The Courage of Sarah Noble, Little House in the Big Woods, 4 different Beatrix Potter stories and Mr. Popper's Penguins and I did not purchase the Student Guide because I just wanted to do it orally. Much to my surprise, this teacher key only has the answers. So I went back to purchase the Student Guide and, much to my surprise, you have to buy 4 different student guides, one for each book, to go with this one teacher's key. I was so frustrated. They are $11 or $12 each and the teacher's guide was already $13. I am going to return the teacher's guide and get my money back. Quote
