PentecostalMom
My FDIL wants to get married outside at a local Garden Club. However, they do not permit chairs outside due to the fact that they will "disturb the soil". Can you give me ideas for alternative seating? Miss Marple
We have attended several outdoor weddings - some used chairs, but others used square hay bales with boards across. Some just used the hay bales as is, others covered the hay bales with pretty cloth. Did the Garden Club give you any ideas?
Cinder
Is this just for the ceremony? If it's not a long ceremony perhaps you don't need seating. We didn't have any seating. The ceremony was very quick though. :iagree: Same here. But we didn't have anyone who might need to be seated regardless of ceremony length. The hay bale idea sounds good too. JFSinIL
Let folks know in advance that it is standing only - ladies may wish to not wear high heels (cold sink into the ground). And the ceremony better be brief. Why not do ceremony elsewhere, and have cocktails or ? at garden club after? Or just take photos there? macmacmoo
We haven't been to many weddings, but one of the most lovely and fun ones was a picnic. They set out a dozen white sheets with a simple picnic basket on each. We sat and watch them get married and then feasted on picnic lunch. They had some outdoor games set up. It was a blast. PentecostalMom
Thanks for the ideas. She loves the hay bale idea so we are looking into that. :)
