kmom
I am tired of making lapbooks and love notebooking...have any of you used a lapbook and turned it into notebooking pages? How did you do this? I want my dd to write more about what she learned...not just fill in a lapbook piece.
Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
You can always make the lapbook pieces bigger or add extra pages to them. Another idea is add the lapbook piece to a notebook page and only add the bare minimum to the pieces, like a definition or list then write more about the topic on the notepage. I plan on making a lapbook but each chapter will have it's own folder and on the back of the folder add some loose paper so notes and longer writing can be added. I did lapbooking for the first time this year and dd did feel restricted in her writing because she had to just a little blurb for each thing. Staceyshoe
We are doing a lapbook/notebooking combination for our history binder. We use some minibooks, glue printed maps, include narrations, etc. I just put everything on regular paper, 3-hole punch it, and put it in the binder. It's been a nice way to move from lapbooks to notebooks. Gradually, I reduce the amount of minibooks and increase the amount of narrations. Use the lapbook pieces to place on regular paper. Dd will add drawings, extra writing, etc. to what is already on the page. I started doing this because I got really tired of file folders. :D
ByGrace3
We do this as well. Glue the lapbook components into 3 hole punches card stock. We use the pieces as a joking off point and write our narrations an often illustrate them as well.
