Stayseeliz
I have been having issues with heavy cycles, bad pain and a shooting stabbing pain for over a year. My Dr finally did a laparoscopy last week and removed scar tissue and stage 1 endometriosis. Im thankful that it was only stage 1 but I want to do everything I can to prevent it from coming back. I go for my post op appt tomorrow and I know the Dr will suggest birth control pills. Are there any more natural options? Maybe progesterone cream? Thanks for any advice! Lisa in Jax
Vitex, also known as "Chaste Tree Berry" may help. Another thing to consider strongly is "DIM Plus" and Calcium d-glucarate, which help the body get rid of excess estrogens and filter them out. Here's what the bottle looks like: http://www.shopping....tures-Way/info. I'm not advertising the website -- I just wanted to let you see how the bottle looks, so you can find it if you want to buy some. Other ideas -- add/increase: Essential Fatty Acids (fish/flax oil, etc.) B-complex vitamins Vitamin C Zinc Cal/Mag Decrease/eliminate: Soy Dairy Processed foods HIH, Lisa
Stayseeliz
Do you think the DIM plus and progesterone cream would be too much?
Lisa in Jax
Unless you're ttc, I'd think it's fine, though progesterone cream is very mild, and you might want/need more than the cream. I take DIM Plus, calcium D-glucarate and Prometrium (bio-identical progesterone) daily. I do it for peri-menopausal issues, not endo, fwiw. Please consider Vitex, too. I've taken it in the past (when we were ttc and my hormones were out of whack), and it was amazing stuff. It's very slow to work, and it's very gentle for most women. It's known for balancing whatever hormones need balancing. Do some reading and see if it makes sense for you. :) Lisa I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv <g>, so don't take any advice I give w/o checking it for yourself. :)
MercyA
When I ate an almost completely vegan diet (no meat or dairy, just eggs), my pain was *dramatically* and consistently reduced. I wasn't expecting it and didn't start the diet for that reason, so it definitely wasn't a placebo effect. Hope you find a good solution! Stayseeliz
When would I take the DIM-plus and Calcium D-Glucarate in my cycle? I've read that for endometriosis you use the progesterone cream from day 6-8 until day 26 or so. Do you take the others all month long? I'll look at the Vitex too. I just got back from my post-op appointment and my endometriosis wasn't that bad but it feels like the painful, long periods are hormone related.
