lynn
My dd is finishing Abeka 2 language arts if that makes a difference in what direction to go.
Um_2_4
I can only speak to Wordly Wise, but it is a vocab program, not a spelling program. I like it, but I also use AAS. Wordly Wise is not expensive, and is very independent as far as I can see.
SilverMoon
Apples to oranges. One is vocabulary, and the other is spelling instruction. :001_smile: FWIW separate vocabulary studies never accomplished much with my older two kids when they were that young. I won't bother adding any until fifth grade with the rest of them.

3Blessings
Bumping because I would like to hear more of this ... I have natural spellers. Would WW be better? Any ideas?
blessedmom3
Neither. If you have natural spellers, who like to read, and they do dictation, you don't need any of these. I do use wordy wise for one child with speech delay,it's great but it would be busy work for a typical child.
lynn
Thanks for the responses. Now I understand why the page layouts and table of contents were the way they were. I used WW for 6th and 7th grade but not elementary.
GTJo1996
We used Spelling Workout at the end of 2nd grade and beginning of 3rd. I liked the workbook but I HATED the structure. I mean every week it is the same assignment with a different set of words. For example every Monday she re-writes the words, every Tuesday she writes sentences, every Wed she does a word unscramble. Yada yada yada. Now we use Spelling & Vocabulary City so I can make up our own word list and she can select from a myriad of different games to play using the selected words.
