mo2
If you use MCT, do you need to add anything to it, or can it be used as a complete LA program? Thanks.
Crimson Wife
MCT does not include spelling, copywork, or dictation. It also is IMHO lacking in mechanics practice. I am using AAS and Punctuation Puzzlers to supplement "island" with my DS.

For the price, I would really hate to have to supplement. :(
Five More Minutes
I agree with Crimson Wife. I use MCT in conjunction with WWE, as the writing in MCT is more exploratory and enriching than it is explicit writing instruction. I'm also adding in Editor-in-Chief for mechanics practice. Miss Mousie
I am only afterschooling, so not trying to do a complete LA program right now, but I use a sentence diagramming workbook in addition to MCT.
Chrysalis Academy
You need something else for writing instruction. There is disagreement on whether you need something else for mechanics. We're finding MCT plenty so far, but we do use WWS for writing. It doesn't cover spelling either.
