I wore my skirt inside out all day today.

You were just sporting the eclectic look. It's all good!

Don't ask me how this happened; I'm still perplexed. When I put my skirt on this morning, the back was in the back...the tag was where it belonged. When I got up, after accompanying for all of the hymns, three choir numbers, and playing for the Lord's Supper, I looked down and the skirt that had once been clingy was now backward. I don't think it was too noticeable, but ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! How did it manage this? I was SITTING ON A PIANO BENCH! Prior to that, I walked up and down the church hallway a couple of times. That's it!

I swear this very pretty skirt has a mind of its own.

Oh my, that is too funny, but I'm sorry that happened to you. About 5 years ago dh, dd and I were in church. I was wearing a long skirt (around calf) and had to go to the bathroom. We go to a large church and the sanctuary was full so we went in to the overflow building for our seats. This building has been used for different purposes: old childcare building (before new building went up), Sunday School and discipleship classes and so on. Well, the bathrooms are still for the "girls" and are smaller in every way imaginable. :) I exited the bathroom, passed 2-3 kids (older teens), adjusted my skirt to find out..........................................................................................................WAH, my skirt was hiked up in the back and I mean hiked. I'm sure the teens saw it, but couldn't bring themselves to say anything to me. Thanks for bringing back that memory. Needless to say I check and recheck now. LOL!

No, it was not reversible. BUT it's hard to tell. It's a solid color, very flimsy flopsy material and the seams were hidden a good bit by the fullness. If anyone noticed they said nothing, including 20 yr old dd who would have told me immediately.

Would this be the quilt-making daughter? If so, I'm not sure I would've told you, either .

I was singing special music one Sunday. After I sang, I sat down, sat through the sermon, and as we stood for the final hymn, the man behind us tapped my husband on the shoulder and quietly asked if my jacket was inside out. Of course, it WAS!! I couldn't believe it. Not only had I worn it inside out, I stood up and sang in front of 100+ people with it like that!!!!! This wasn't one of those reversible kinds. It was SO obvious, when I got home I chewed my husband out for not catching it. To his and my defense, I was wrestling with a 9mo baby, and when I got up to sing, he was wrestling with her. ANYWAY, I just turned to the man and said I was just checking to see if anyone truly paid attention to the special music or not. LOL! We had a good laugh about it, but now I double check myself before I walk out the door.

If someone who loves you calls it to your attention, you can both have a good laugh, reverse the offending item, and move on with your life.

If it is someone who loves to criticize you who discovers your mistake, make up the name of a worthy-sounding organization and claim you are doing it in solidarity with their current crisis, which everyone who has half a brain would be aware of due to the importance of the issue. Ask your nemesis, "You mean you are against allowing babies to be present in public spaces?!?", and drop your jaw with an agast look. You might even shame them into going to change their skirt inside out too!

I once walked around a very crowded theme park with my right boob hanging out...i had a toddler on my hip, and he had pulled my v-neck tee shirt down...and i didn't notice for nearly half an hour. (Thank God I was wearing a bra!). I noticed everyone seemed to be extra smiley when they looked at us, but I just thought they were smiling at my cute son. My only condolance was that I would never see those people again.

OP if dd didn't notice, then perhaps you went unnoticed, but thanks for sharing your humiliation; I needed a good laugh :)

Yikes!

I will forever be grateful to the lady in the Hilton Chicago ladies' room who stopped me from leaving with the back of my skirt tucked into my underpinnings!

It might actually be becoming fashionable!

My husband just bought a few neon long sleeved running shirts. I turn things right side out before folding them. I turned that darned thing 5 or 6 times before I gave up. I decided that if I couldn't tell the difference, it did not matter. It looked inside out both ways and the tag was no help, it stuck up straight and looked the same either way.

If mismatched socks are fashionable, who knows what is possible!! (My husband was ahead of that fashion trend, too, BTW. He thinks it is great.)

I was in college, going somewhere w/ some guy friends, & realized my skirt was on wrong-side-out. We had to stop to pick a couple more people up, so I ran inside & switched it. Not ten minutes later, I realized...I'd had it right the first time. *faint*

On the up side? I've never known a guy who'd have been able to tell. Well. At least not if it's THAT hard for a girl to tell. :p (It was a prairie skirt.)
