MistyMountain
I'm thinking of getting WWE for my dd6. She needs to work on her ability to narrate and comprehend. I don't need to use it for the writing aspect. She goes to a charter school and they do copywork in her class. Will WWE help a child who needs help in comprehending and narrating? Should I get the workbook, textbook or both? What about FLL or anything else that has exercises with narration or comprehension.
Dahliarw
I would get the instructor text. You can then read how to do a narration and pick your own material to read and have her narrate from. The workbook portions on narration are just exerpts from various books/stories.
Alte Veste Academy
If you don't need it for writing, why not just have her narrate whatever you happen to be reading aloud to her? Kids can narrate anything. I even have my kids narrate articles about current events sometimes.
MistyMountain
I'm not sure how to do narration or what questions to ask which is why I wanted to get WWE for now. I prefer things that walk me through the process. Will there be enough examples in the workbook? I am fine with it just being excerpts if there is enough practice in it otherwise I will get the instructors text.

However, if you want the sample narrations, you will need to by the workbook.

It has everything: excerpts, leading questions, sample narrations. The instructor text gives you a framework for 4 years, and gives you a couple of weeks' examples of what lessons would look like from each year. The workbook has far more prepared practice than the instructor text, and holds your hand through the process. You do not need both the workbook and the instructor text. I think I will get the workbook.
