HollyDay
Who does not like dystopian or vampire books? Dd 13 prefers adventures, mysteries, science fiction like War of the Worlds. Any suggestions????

Farrar
Well, I think female protagonist fantasy is going to be the next big thing in YA, so if she can enjoy fantasy, then she'll find more options than the dystopians and the vampires. Fantasy stuff... Seraphina The Blue Sword and The Hero and the Crown The Thief and the rest of the series everything by Tamora Pierce most anything by Jessica Day George anything by Shannon Hale Mysteries... The Echo Falls Mysteries Chasing Vermeer and the sequels (a bit on the younger end, but good) The London Eye Mystery The Wolves of Wiloughby Chase and the sequels (also a bit on the younger end, but with great vocabulary) Science Fiction... The True Meaning of Smekday I, Robot Ender's Game Mortal Engines (steampunk) The Search for Wondla (a bit younger, but interesting) anything by Madeline L'Engle How does she feel about more everyday stories? Would she like Wendy Mass for example?
