DawnM
UGH! This person keeps texting me and sending me pictures of body parts (nothing obscene so far although one picture I do wonder where it is coming from), but he won't stop. I have told him to STOP and he keeps texting me saying he knows me, etc.....but won't give a name. it is NOT a number I know and I am assuming it is some kid somewhere. Is this the new prank thing to do? I finally told him my husband works for the police department and I would be showing him all the texts tonight. Can I block him? What do I do? DawnM
Oh, and he is texting my iMessage account not my cell phone, but he isn't using an iMessage account that I can see, he is using a phone number.
Forget-Me-Not
I found this There is a way to do this. In notifications, goto messages and you will see "show iMessage Alerts from". Instead of the option "Everyone", select "My Contacts Only". Now, if the person who is sending iMessage to you is in your contacts, delete them. That should do it https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4289082?start=0&tstart=0 If that doesn't work, I'd quit responding. And maybe turn off the little setting that lets the other person see if you've read the message or not. Hopefully he will stop once he fails to get a reaction. DawnM
OK, whew. I called my DH because I was so irritated and was looking up texting harassment laws!~ I had the phone number so I could report it. Turns out it was an iMessage for my DH. Their secretary is always messing with them in the office and she was iMessaging HIM but it came to me. The last photo was not risqué as I was concerned about. SHEESH! Jean in Newcastle
That is not a very professional thing for a secretary to be doing - whether it is risque or not. Does she need more work to do?

DawnM
Honestly, there is a lot about this secretary that isn't very professional from what my husband tells me. I mean, I do understand joking around, we did it at work some too, but I wish it hadn't come to ME. She DOES get the work done, and that is one reason they keep her. But let's just say her stories about her kids' behavior have caused more than one person to say (in front of her!), "I am beginning to see the benefits of Jim homeschooling his children!"
AMJ
When you responded that your husband works for the police that should have clued her in that she wasn't reaching your DH....
DawnM
One would think, although I wasn't being honest either. My husband doesn't work for the police dept. She may have thought he was just saying that. When you responded that your husband works for the police that should have clued her in that she wasn't reaching your DH.... Plink
That is awful! I'd get in touch with her supervisor. Employees like that are very rarely worth the effort that they require, no matter how great they are at their job.
kiwik
Here the advice is don't reply even to tell them to stop. If you do reply you are no longer considered the innocent victim but are complicit and no action can be taken.
DawnM
Interesting. Here I read you need to respond with STOP and if they don't stop, then it is considered harassment.
