happycc
I would like to know what kinds of cleaning products do you use at home? Once upon a time ago people suggested to me those Magic Sponges for my tub and oh they work wonderfully. Not just on the tub but for a lot of other things too. What else do you all recommend that does a good job cleaning without killing fumes and such? fairfarmhand
I love my Comet Cleaning spray. I do prefer natural cleaners, but with our hard water they just don't do the trick. That is the only thing that I buy. It dissolves soap scum and hard water stains. For dishes, I like the Dawn hand renewal, I think it;s called, It's a pink liquid. As much as I wash dishes, it helps keep my hands from getting quite so scaly. I only use Cascade Gel pacs, but I added Lemishine gel packs with them and for the first time in years, my glasses look crystal clear. Hard water makes cleaning stuff very complicated, so I usually stick to name brand stuff.
Flowing Brook
I really like Sam's laundry detergent. It comes in a five gallon bucket and lasts a year. It is called wind fresh. We have a front loader and use only between one teaspoon and a tablespoon depending on how dirty the clothes are. Dawn dish soap I use shacklee cleaning products. I have just started using a natural product called whip it. I am amazed at how clean it gets things. It has gotten stains out of our carpet that have been there for years. For dusting I use either melaleuca dusting spray or citra wood. Both natural products. I am addicted to cleaning products and have to pull myself away from them when in the store. Ellie
Dishwasher liquid Dishwashing soap Laundry detergent Cleaning Sprays I use Amway products for all of those. They're economical, environmentally safe, and they do a great job. Amway laundry and personal care products (i.e., deoderant, bath soap) are the only ones Mr. Ellie can use without his skin doing really weird stuff. JudoMom
Dawn dishwashing liquid. Finish Powerball tabs. I'm not loyal to anything else.
Belacqua
Finish Powerball tabs. Seconded. Nothing else touches the tea stains.
Orthodox6
The Costco "environmentally-friendly" dish liquid has worked very well for us. The Cascade gel pacs and the Tide gel pods now are my staples for dishwasher and washing machine, respectively. Now that I am washing my mother's clothing from the nursing home every-other-day, I have incorporated white vinegar into the rinse water. On a whim, I tried the same when washing our last load of bath towels, and was delighted with the results. I never have had towels come from the dryer so soft while still feeling clean! 20 Mule Team Borax for additional laundry freshening. Tea stains don't come out in my dishwasher unless I place the cup or mug on the lower rack. Then the stains come right out. (Another help is to rinse out any leftover tea and residue immediately, rather than to let the cup sit overnight.) White vinegar is my all-purpose cleaner. If there is something truly germ-filled (such as toilet overflow), I'll yield and use something poisonous for that job, only. For toilet bowls, I use various products (Seventh Generation, and that ilk). Bon-Ami no longer cleans counter stains as well as it used to. Is it the counter? Is it the Bon-Ami? I don't know.
