CatholicMom Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 My dd6 will be in 1st next year and we will do similar to what I did with my boys when they were in 1st: Math: MCP Math A Phonics: Explode the Code 1, 2, 3 Readers: CHC Little Stories for Little Folks Grammar: Evan-Moor Grammar & Punctuation Grade 1 (or something else - not sure) Literature: Sonlight Core A read-alouds (I probably won't follow an IG for her, though) History: Listen in with her brothers who will be studying American History. Science: Listen in with her brothers and read some Sonlight science books we already have. Religion: Ergermeier's Bible Story Book (SL) and maybe Faith & Life grade 1 if she can handle it. Guest Posted March 29, 2013 Share Posted March 29, 2013 My plan for the fall with my daughter is to finish up HOD's Little Hearts for His Glory and then move into Beyond Little Hearts for His Glory. We are going to really try and use all of the HOD suggestions as far as Language Arts (written into guide) and math (Singapore). We will continue with OPGTR. Phonics, Spelling, Penmanship: LoE Foundations and maybe some essentials depending on how fast we finish it, we should be finishing B this year Math- RSB + Work w/ Cuisanaire Rods Literature- Fairytales, Beatrix Potter, Milne, Nursery Rhymes etc. Grammar- Grammarland, listening along with brother and MCT and some work with me with copywork WWE1- I hope to do our own selections but might use the workbook Art- Atelier lvl 3 w/ big brother Science- Gems guides, library books- nothing official for her but I figure she will tag along some History- Middle Ages w/ big brother- again nothing official but she will be tagging along Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
