Bensmom
Looking for the next read aloud to share with ds 10. Poll to follow.
SFM
I chose Little Britches because it is something that my nine year old DS and I will soon be embarking on. :)
elizabeth rose
Cheaper By the Dozen is on my list!
Lily_Grace
Cheaper by the Dozen, but please follow with Belles On Their Toes! It's so nice to see what happens after.
Chris in VA
I haven't read them all-- Like Cheaper--don't watch the movie after as it's DULLL. REALLY like Gone...It starts with a mystery, and it's fun. All of a Kind has an "old fashioned" vibe--may or may not like it. Roll of Thunder is another classic--have you read a lot of books like it? Haven't read. Hear all the time how wonderful Little Britches is! But haven't read.
sassenach
Little Britches is one if my all time favorite books (series). I think 10 is a perfect age to read it aloud. We're currently almost through Man in the Family (the second in the series).
freeindeed
Little Britches. My ds9 loved this book!
Jayne J
I voted Little Britches, since my dc enjoyed it so much this year. Just a warning, there is some mild language and sad animal demises. It didn't bother me or mine, but some people are more sensitive.
Library Momma
I voted All-of-a-Kind Family. One of my all time faves!!
briansmama
Roll of Thunder is on our read-aloud list for fall, when ds will turn 10.
In the Rain
I loved Gone-Away Lake and Return to Gone-Away. My kids didn't care for them as much as I did.
happypamama
For a boy, specifically, I voted Little Britches. I think All-of-a-Kind Family is lovely; it's one of my favorite series. But it's heavily focused on girls; my son enjoyed it but not nearly as much as my daughter. My other choice for you would be Cheaper By the Dozen because it's hilarious (and I vote for Belles on Their Toes after that as well).
