What are cute casual shoes that are instantly comfortable/don't have to be broken in?

My teen daughter needs a pair of shoes for a trip she's leaving on in a week, that are nice enough to wear with a casual skirt but could be worn with jeans/shorts, and don't need breaking in. I'm thinking some of the Toms styles, or something along those lines. She'll be doing tons of walking and it will be hot.

I've always been able to wear Teva sandals right away for long periods. I'm getting ready to go on an extended trip to Uganda and will be wearing skirts all the time--and walking alot on dirt roads... I will be getting a new pair of Teva's and will be set! -- I must add that I have chronic foot problems and Teva has been the most supportive sandal that fit.

This thread isn't the first time I've heard of Teva. I usually wear Birks because I hate closed shoes but need sandals with arch support. I thought I'd see what Teva is all about so I went to the store locator and put in my zip code. Know what came up as a local seller? The nearby Ace Hardware store! :confused1:

Keens. Lots of cute (very casual) styles. I have a pair of black Mary Janes that might not be sexy, but have seen me through many years and many comfortable miles.

Yes - Keens are great. My dd wears the Mary Janes with her school uniform, and they've been very comfortable since the first day she put them on. They look cute with a skirt.

Oh my - I must be a fashion misfit - no one else mentioned crocs? I just bought two new pair of sandals yesterday. I don't care though - I can wear them with a casual skirt/dress and also spend all day in the theme parks. (Oh and if anyone isn't familiar with their styles - I am not talking about the clogs!)

(That's funny that your Ace Hardware store supposedly carries them - ha! -- Maybe Teva is also a brand name for tools??)

I thought I'd better come back and explain. I went there today because it was on my errand route and I was curious. There's a surf store next door that's owned by Ace? The franchisee? Anyway, that's what the Ace helpful hardware man told me. The store was closed today, but at least the mystery is solved. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why Ace would sell Teva shoes.
