mom31257
I was able to go to the Nuts and Bolts sessions at the Apologia Real Refreshment Retreat in Atlanta today. I wish so much that I could have gone for the whole weekend, but I have to work tomorrow. The sessions were very encouraging and definitely made me think about what I do and why I do it. I'm also excited about their Chemistry and Physics Elementary book. According to the ladies in registration, it is in technical review and goes to the printer next month. It's already in their new catalog and should be at conventions in May. Our writing co-op is wanting to add art and science next year, and we hope it will be a winner with the kids! oneddmanybooks
Those sessions sound great. We recently learned about the Chemistry & Physics book, and my dd is excited to get started with it. I might purchase one of the kits with the supplies for the experiments (I hope those will be available - from Nature's Workshop and other places?). Forgiven
Thank you for this! I've been going crazy trying to figure out what to use for Elementary introduction to Chemistry and Physics as my dh and I want our kids to be introduced to these subjects far earlier than Apologia originally had. I am close to picking something...I'll have to see this new book first...I hope they have it to buy at the HS conference I'll be going to in June. Did they say when it will be available on their website?

Did they say when it will be available on their website? It is in the new catalog and says Summer at the top of the page. They told me it goes to the printer in April and should be at conventions in May and available for orders in June. They list the notebooking journals as well. Here is the description on her website. I've never actually used their curriculum because I didn't want to study one of those topics all year long, but these are two subjects that I can gladly do all year. I am part of a co-op that began because of several of us wanting to do the writing program SWI-A from IEW. We did life skills along with that class. Next year we want to continue IEW and add art and science. I think this will be a really fun science to do in a group.
