A home for their hearts
Does such a list exist? I'm sure one must. I find myself having panics attacks worry my dc will miss some of the great books. I need a list that we can cross out as we read. I need a list that tells me what books should be read at what age. Help!

Amethyst
This made me chuckle. It reminds me of a story. Years ago when I was in my mid-20's, I mentioned to my brother and his fiancee that I enjoy reading the classics and wanted to read as many as possible. Several months later, the fiancee asked my brother (when I wasn't around), "Hey, how's Karen doing with reading all the classics?" He quipped, with his typical dry humor, "Oh, she's finished." We all laughed at the absurdity of it. And I tell you this story to let you know that your children WILL miss some of the classics. We all will. So, now you can relax. :)

A home for their hearts
Here is one. http://www.classical...eloop/1000.html I had bookmarked this years ago and forgot all about it! However we haven't read many good books so I really need a list.

AMJ
Man, I love these forums! Lots of good stuff, just for the vulching! This vulture thanks you all! There will be lots of books in the lists I didn't get to, either, though there may be some I grew up with and consider classics that aren't listed. I'll have to see!
