Samiam
I'm wanting a Earth Science that covers weather, ie types of clouds, cause of rain, tornadoes, etc. Every Earth Science I've seen doesn't go into it much, maybe a week on water cycle, and I'm guessing talking about clouds in that week. I'd like it to be a good chunk of the program, 1/3, like 6-10 weeks of weather (if done 2-3 days a week). Any suggestions? BTW, elementary level. thnxs
Sew happily ever after
What about the science sold by AIG? http://www.answersingenesis.org/store/product/gods-design-heaven-and-earth-complete-set/?sku=40-1-327 The second book our weather and water looks like it might cover what you are looking for. And I do believe you can use just that book not all of them
laughing lioness
Can I suggest getting aquainted with the NOAA site? There is SO much info on there and my kids (thanks to dh) LOVE getting on there every day and checking out all of the cool graphs, charts, etc. It is chock full of info! Guest
I thought of the AiG program mentioned above or Christian Kids Explore Earth Science. I've owned both at one time (didn't use either; went with Apologia, although it doesn't do weather.) Just looking at the Christian Kids makes me wish I didn't sell it. I loved that book, it just wasn't right for my kids at the time. Both are Christian, obviously.
redsquirrel
CPO Earth and Space Science does. It is written for the middle school years, but I think a 5th grader could handle it. It did clouds, pressure systems, radar, dewpoint etc. There was an activity where you made your own barometer, another where you track the weather every day for a month, and a few other things. We used it last year and my memory is fuzzy at this point, lol.
