misty.warden
What are they? Electronic cigarettes, they use water vapor and flavored nicotine tincture.
LaxMom
I think it should have the same restrictions as regular cigarettes, but whatever otherwise. If they really don't smell, I'd get over it in a bar. I agree. In an adults-only situation, they don't really bother me. Otherwise, I take exception to modeling smoking for children, and I find it annoying because it generally has the feeling of "I found a loophole to the legislated courtesy, so there!" FTR: I smoke. I am perfectly happy with bans, except that everyone congregates around the door, because that's generally where the disposal vessels are, which I've always thought was rude. Guest inoubliable
I'm only five months out from my quit date so e-cigs bother me because the people I know that use them are always trying to get me to try them since they're "safer". Gah! Other than that, I have no thought on them. I don't ever see anyone with them out in public, actually. Huh. Or maybe I just don't notice? The people that I know who do use them, use them in their houses so that there's no smell inside.
Guest inoubliable
I have no idea if they're safer or not. I just want them kept the hell away from me. LOL. Why would anyone offer an e-cig to someone who just quit smoking?? I always feel like responding with "No thanks. Remember I quit? Do you have Cuban, though? I'll take one of those..." LucyStoner
I had an assistant once who used them to try to stop smoking. Because there is no restriction on location and she could have it where ever, whenever all it did was up her dependence on nicotine and when she started smoking real ones again, her number per day was way way WAY higher. Like 1/2 a pack a day to more than a pack a day. She has asthma and is in her 30s and can barely breathe. It's pretty sad. E-cigs just made her situation way worse. And they stink.
