5LittleMonkeys
Well, I mean I know I can use whatever I want, but I've heard that LLAtL is lighter than some other Lit programs so was wondering if one of the highschool levels could work for an average 8th grader or would it be too advanced? I would be working through it with her if that makes a difference. This dd does not need all the grammar and spelling that's found in the 8th grade book...I really just want the literature discussion\questions and writing, as well as the poetry work. Plus, I really like the book selections for the British Lit. program. :D
shanvan
If you think your Dd can handle the novels included I really don't see why not. I do think it is light compared to other Lit programs. Is this the one you mean? I found it cheap at a sale and I'm sort of using it for our read a loud of A Tale of Two Cities. My 11 year old is doing a pretty good job answering the questions, though the book is really for Ds and I to study.

Well, dd doesn't like to read but if I work through these with her I think she will enjoy it. I've let her read the synopsis of these books and she said she was interested. I know many people don't like the comprehension type questions but this child does well with them and they highlight ideas, themes, and inferences that she normally doesn't see. Thanks for the input! kiwi mum
If you go to Commonsensepress.com and click on British Lit there is a placement test available.
