Kathleen in VA
There are several Goodwill stores on Oahu. Are you on the leeward or windward side of the island? There is a Savers Thrift store downtown: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1505+Dillingham+Blvd.+Honolulu+96817&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title There is also a store called Price Busters that sells at a deep discount. kailuamom
There's also a Salvation Army store in Kailua (windward side) and on Beretania Street downtown. Target will be there in a couple of years. ;)
Sharon H in IL
Thrift stores are great for buying supplies for a beach trip, and souvenirs. We didn't pack any beach toys for our kids when we went to Lake Michigan. Just stopped at the Lutheran thrift store and bought sturdy kitchen utensils, beach chairs, extra beach towels, and local sports team sweatshirts as souvenirs. The beach stuff gets donated back at the end of the trip. :) Fun memories.
kailuamom
Stay away from the ABC stores (they are everywhere) -- too expensive. What are you looking for in particular? Ahh...I miss Hawaii. This is making me (old) homesick!
