Guest
Is there a cute little jingle or something to help me remember which is which?!? My son recently learned them and is constantly saying, "hey, that's a homophone, huh?" and I have to grab my teacher's guides to check! I need something catchy to remember them, lol! Help! Chris in VA
Gosh, I don't, but I think of it this way-- Homo means same, so that part is easy. The ending tells you what is the same-- Phone--I think, you talk (make a sound) on the phone. These words SOUND the same (only). Graph--I think, you write/draw a graph. These words are WRITTEN (spelled) the same (only). Nym--Well, this one is a combo--These words SOUND and are WRITTEN the same (both). I'm sure that isn't helpful! lol
Guest
That is actually extremely helpful. I needed it condensed and in one place, with something to help me remember. :o Thank you!!!!
