Does anyone else have troubling parting with curriculum?

This is so stupid, but I can't get myself to sell some of the stuff I have hanging around. An example is History Odyssey. I have all of level 2, but it just will not work with ds. I love it though, and I really wish it would have been a good fit for him. I can't get myself to sell it. I need the money to buy other stuff, like a much needed microscope, IEW, and a few other things. Someone give me a kick!!

I am sentimental, so I have difficulty selling or giving away curriculum that we have used and are finished with. It makes me sad. I have told myself that I will keep the FLL1/2 combo book, though. :) After this year, I will need to sell our first Sonlight Core. I might need to go to a support group to deal with this...

I have this problem now because I've sold stuff that didn't work for my older group and now there have been a few things I wished I still had on my shelf because I just know it would be perfect for some of my youngers. It's completely embarrassing and annoying to repurchase something I've already purchased and sold.

No. Never.

HA.

I have a box of stuff to sell... only, it has been sitting there for more than a couple of years - and I just pulled some of it out to use next year. HA, see, I did *need* it!

And then there is the stuff I can't find because I stashed a bunch of stuff post divorce... because, I was apparently "done" homeschooling. Like History Odyssey 1 (Level 1). I need that... and I have no idea where back there it is. So i'm going to do something else from my stash - and when I find HO move to that....

But, it is sure letting me dive back into HS cheaper.... which is good because my budget is like $0 and my ex isn't helping at all.

Technically I *should* get rid of the PreK, K, 1st material.... since my youngest is in 2nd grade.

But.... but.......

Yes, part of the reason is that I know that I won't get much money for it, so the bother of selling is off-putting.

If I knew someone that would really value it, I would just give it away.

Some of my stuff I know I just won't use I think i'm just going to donate to Book Samaritan.

I need the money, but I'd rather bless someone that needs some help..... Now to just get thru the stuff and sort it out to ship them some stuff.

Well, my oldest 2 have informed me that I will be HSing their kids LOL, so I guess i have a reason to hang on to what works.

But I do the same thing, I have tons of resources from my days as a kg teacher, some are usefull and some really are geared more for classrooms so I should get rid of it. But I spent so much on it and I doubt I can get much for it, but I do need more $$$ for the HS fund. Hmmm maybe I need to go through and get it out of here....sigh

I've been homeschooling for 18 years, and I haven't sold ANY of my curriculum. Mainly because I'm lazy. And just looking at those buy/sell boards gives me a headache. I'm also fortunate enough to not need the money to buy new curriculum, so in my basement it sits. Some of it I'm emotionally attached to, and some just needs to go. Sigh...

I refuse to sell CW Homer because I have dared myself to finish the darn thing at some point.

You could be like me and say it will help your addled brain stay crisp by using all the curriculum you save. You know when you're 75, sit down to fill out a phonics book or really figure out that algebra book. Or when the zombie apocalypse does happen your home could become the new fortress of learning. Physics with Zombies, "here son, you can learn about the law of falling bodies as I drop this rock from the roof onto the zombie's head."
