I found someone to cut my hair after we moved last summer. She's great. She's always running on time. She listens to me and cuts my hair exactly how I want it. She was happy to go back and cut it a little shorter one time after she blew it out and styled it. She's nice and fun to chat with during my appointments. She only charges $35. I'm used to paying more like $50. How much would you tip?

I tip 20%. I really like the woman I currently use. I tip $12 on a $60 haircut, and then 1-2 bucks to the young woman who shampoos my hair. I double my stylist's tip at Christmas. If you are happy and her prices are extremely reasonable, I'd do 8 or 10 bucks. If you get a haircut 4x a year, I'd probably be on the extra generous side. I get my hair cut every 5-6 weeks, so I stick closer to 20%.

I've been tipping $10. The first time I used a Groupon and tipped extra to compensate somewhat for the low price. Since then I've gone with $10. It still feels like a bargain after paying $50 plus tip.

I tip 20%. Sometimes I tip a bit more if I'm especially happy with the cut or service provided. Your tip of $10 sounds right, especially since she's charging a lot less than others in your area.

I have a great hairstylist who works at, of all place, Great Clips. I tip her like crazy b/c she makes so little and I use their coupons. And she doesn't mind that I come in so infrequently; says it's easier for her to cut a bunch than to trim off a bit. If she's happy, I'm happy.
